I have a very special treat to start the weekend.  It is not a timelapse or a tilt-shift, but this video captures the essence of Venice so well that I’m already trying to understand the visual language it used to do so.   

Day dreaming…  that’s the technical term for what you are doing while watching this video about Venice.   Good luck trying to get anything done the rest of the day.

While in Nice, we managed to escape to Italy for a day and discovered some really charming old towns.  Had a great time and drank good wine.  I’ll edit a video with the footage from that trip, but in the mean time enjoy this video of Venice by Michael Battcock.

There is a good reason Venice was already a major tourist destination 400 years ago! And Luke has made a great job at capturing it in HDR, perhaps the only way to do justice to the rich palette of its colors.
